I was in Beijing two weeks ago on a business trip.  As it turns out, flights between the US and China are very full these days, so I had to stay an extra day.  I used the time to walk from my hotel to Tiananmen square — an 11 mile walk!  Along the way I stopped in Jingshan Park, which has a wonderful view of the center of Beijing, including  this view of the Forbidden City to the south.

The lower level of the park is filled with flowers and is a wonderful place to walk around on a nice spring day.

Last weekend, we had a party with most of the extended Cotton family.  Since this happens so rarely, it was a good time to get everyone together for a picture.  It is really difficult to coordinate 38 people for a picture, especially with a high percentage of kids.  We got it together, though, even if our dog decided at the last minute to join the crowd.

We went to the cabin last weekend along with three Slip and Slides.  Sandi linked them together, along with a big plastic tarp, and let the kids slide down the hill.  It was like having our own little water slide park in our backyard.

This is Celia’s friend Lily, cooling off in the splash pool.

Here is a stereogram of the same picture:

I bought a used Fujifilm W3 just before spring break this year, and I’ve been using it a lot.  It’s a 3D camera, with two lenses and two sensors and it captures two pictures simultaneously.  Compared to the way I’ve been making 3D pictures in the past, this allows me to take pictures of things in motion.

I like the way this picture came out.  The droplets of water in the air around Lily’s face is an neat effect.
