One of our favorite foods when we lived in France was crepes.  We bought a crepe maker (which works OK, even with the lower voltage outlets in the US) and Sandi has been developing her technique off and on ever since.  We don’t make them very often, but the kids love it when we do.  I made this page from a recent afternoon pig out.

Sometimes, we make dinner crepes as well, which personally I prefer over the sweet crepes.  But the girls are all about the nutella.

Sandi has been trying to get Sadie’s birthday picture taken for a few weeks now.  At first, she was holding out hope that we might be able to take the pictures outside, but it’s been a deep freeze here in Indiana, not to mention that there’s been a fair amount of snow recently as well.

Last Saturday, she decided to go ahead and take the picture inside.  Here’s what we got:

Ch’ti Beer – This is an awesome name for a beer.

Auray – A town we visited near the southern coast of Brittany

Vitré – A town near St. Gregoire that we visited on a rainy day.

Hall of shame or domestic goddess? – Sandi makes cardboard furniture for the guest room
La Baule, Batz-sur-mer and Guérande – A day trip to the southern coast of Brittany and the salt flats
They Grow Up Too Fast! – CeCe, umm… matures.
Free Samples Anyone? – We observed a strange tendency in France to sample the merchandise in the Grocery.

Well, I’ve had the blog running on the new server for about a month now, and it’s starting to feel like home.  :)

I made a small set of modifications to the theme today to make it a bit more convenient.  There are now two sidebars, so you don’t have to scroll down so far to get to all of the options on the page.  I widened the entire theme in the process, so I also updated the header to reflect the new size as well.

I’ve added a new page that contains all of the tags currently in use on the blog.  Mostly, it’s there for me to use as a visual representation of the tag frequency, but clocking on a tag will load the relevant posts as well.  This page is accessible from the top line of the blog, next to the “about” link.

Today ended the first full month that this site has been tracked by Google Analytics.  Obviously, this isn’t really a general interest blog, but I’m fascinated by the traffic that gets to this site.

Since we lived in an area of France that was so close to England by ferry, this was a vacation we knew we were going to have to take.  Visiting a country that speaks your language is an intense relief as well.

Our Vacation in England, Day 2 – The ferry from France and our almost visit to Stonehenge

Our Vacation in England, Day 3 – Oxford and Stratford-on-Avon

Our Vacation in England, Day 4 – Cheddar Gorge and Bath

I reposted a bunch of these at lunchtime today, but I didn’t have the rest of the trip to England with me.  So these posts are a little out of order this time.

Nutella Dreams or Nightmare?  – The world’s biggest jar of Nutella starts calling Sandi’s name.  We still talk about that jar.

Blissful evening – A rare night out without the kids in France.

Celia’s Self Portrait – More artwork from school “WITH A NUT FOR A NOSE!”

One man’s trash is another man’s…well, trash! – Kids shouldn’t be allowed to have pockets.

Twirly P – Thank heaven Sadie has given up this habit.

Ahhh, the power of cheese! – The ever-popular Celia Cheese!

Sadie is 2 years old – Side’s birthday pictures, plus a few of the other girls.

The posts are still out of order today.  I hope to post the rest of the England trip posts tomorrow.

Christmas break – A post from Sandi about Christmas 2005, New Years Eve, Sadie’s birthday, and having to put up with the rest of us in the house for two solid weeks.

Sending smoke signals – Learning French after learning German.

I DID MY VERY FIRST PHOTOSHOOT – Sandi takes some test shots of the kids.

Our Vacation in England, Day 5 – A beautiful little town called Burton-on-the-Water and Canterbury.

Our Vacation in England, Day 6: Wales — A visit to the beach at Tenby, where we took some of our all-time favorite pictures of the girls.

Our Vacation in England, Day 7: Wales — A visit to St. David and Cricieth, where we met with one of Sandi’s friends from the Expat board on the internet.

I still haven’t gotten to post the last of the vacation posts from England, but I did finally figure out how to move the Technorati tags into the post footer block and I added a print formatting for the posts (more on that later — it’s still in the experimental stage).  This should make the blog a little prettier.

Here are the posts I did get to upload:

St. Gregoire blizzard of ‘05 – You’ll be amazed by the snowfall!!!

Celia Turns 4 – Cece’s birthday pictures

Spanish Vacation, Day 1 – This is the start of the short tale of our vacation in Spain.  SPOILER ALERT:  We didn’t get to Spain on the first day.
