Archive for January, 2009

Here’s another set of posts that I’ve put together from the print outs that Papaw Atherton made, as well as some of the Word documents that he created from the original posts on Survivor Germany.  This batch fills in some of the missing details from the first year of posts in Germany.  It probably completes all of the extant posts from our trip to Italy, for example.

It sucks to have to use the word “extant” here.  It is a word I most commonly associate with bits of scrolls containing small excerpts of documents used by early Christians.  :(

You Can’t Argue With Fun – Carissa goes mudding in Kindergarten.

Our Italian Vacation, Day 5: The Amalfani Coast – A really tough place to drive, but worth it.

And From The Modern Art Department… – Some of Carissa’s early art from school.

Bath Time – A couple of funny pictures of Carissa and Celia in the tub.

And From The Modern Art Department… (Part 2) – The first known portrait of Sadie!  (It’s a bit speculative given that she wasn’t born for more than 2 weeks after the portrait was made.)  :)

I’m taking a short break today from updating our archives to post a scrapbook page about a picture that we took while in Germany but never posted.

We took this picture 6 years ago today.  I don’t remember why Sandi picked up the camera, but I was just holding Sadie in a position that she seemed to find comfortable.  This has become one of my favorite pictures and I thought today was a good day to share it.

The project continues… I’m almost finished with “Survivor Germany”.  Soon I’ll be into “Survivor France”.

Sadie’s 6-Month Picture

The Habits We Make – Sandi talks about the habits she picked up in Germany and what it was like going back to Indy with those habits.
