Rock Band

Sandi bought me the video game called Rock Band for my birthday. If you haven’t seen it, the point is that you and your friends form a “band”. Each player gets an instrument (vocals, guitar, bass or drums) and you pretend to play 50 or so famous rock songs. The band can go on tour and try to earn money and fans along the way. It’s essentially a complicated rhythm game, but it’s a lot of fun to play.
The girls and I have been playing it a lot recently. Carissa plays drums, I play guitar, and Cece and Sadie take turns singing. We spend a lot of time doing the same songs over and over, but I guess that’s not that far from what a real band on tour does.
Our current set list includes “Paranoid” by the band Garbage, “Say it Ain’t So” and “Buddy Holly” by Weezer, “In Bloom” by Nirvana and “Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi.
Carissa and Cece are getting good enough now that they can play the game on medium. Carissa is going to turn into a real drummer if we are not careful.
